Quick start

This section is for first-time Axiomate users. It helps you start from the right folder, configure a model, understand permissions, and check usage. Read these pages in order:

  • Start from a workspace — start Axiomate from the project folder you want to work on.

  • Configure models — add a main model and understand common model fields.

  • Main and auxiliary models — understand the main chat model, fallback, and auxiliary task models.

  • Input and shortcuts — learn how to enter tasks, wait for responses, interrupt AI, and use common shortcuts.

  • Preferences — use /config to adjust language, verbose output, RTK command-output processing, and other preferences.

  • Session management — understand sessions, context, compaction, and commands such as /clear, /resume, and /compact.

  • Permission modes — understand when Axiomate asks before acting and when it can proceed automatically.

  • Usage information — check historical usage and current context size. Advanced topics:

  • Plan mode — research and prepare a plan first, then execute after approval for complex tasks and team review.

  • Skill — learn what Skills are and how to add, use, and generate reusable Skills.

  • MCP — learn how to connect external MCP servers and manage their tools in a conversation.

  • Plugins and marketplaces — learn the plugin TUI, marketplace sources, installation scopes, and Python environment guidance.

  • Computer Use and Browser Bridge — learn when to use desktop control and browser debugging capabilities.

  • Checkpoints and rewind — understand file snapshots, /rewind, and checkpoint storage.
